Internet gambling has become BIG business. Absolutely anyone can get into internet gambling and win big money.

Of course, anyone can lose big too.

There have been many reports of people losing thousands of dollars in hours with internet gambling . The ease at which anyone can sign up and spend their life savings and the fact that betting in all its forms can become an addiction, adds to the frightening aspect of the internet gambling business. What checks are made when you sign up to an online casino or games room? Unfortunately, very few. Anyone with a credit card can sign up and start wasting their money within minutes.

Laws have started to change regarding gambling on the internet .

The USA have recently passed a bill making it illegal for any casino, games or gambling website to accept money over the internet from US citizens. However there is some debate as to the reasoning behind the new laws.

To protect the users from potential addiction? Or to protect the revenues of Las Vegas?

To protect the young from exposure to betting and gaming? Or to ensure offshore companies cannot profit from US gamblers, thus paying their taxes to other governments?

With gambling becoming the new tobacco as far as tax streams go, I would wager the new laws are designed more towards protecting the internet gambling income than protecting the users interests.

So, how can you win at internet gambling ?

The easy answer: Don't play with money at all.

With any gamble, there is a higher chance you lose than you win. Otherwise it wouldn't be a gamble would it?

I like abit of Poker. Online Poker rules! No limit hold 'em is my game and I used to play with friends around a dining room table every other Friday night until I left town.

I miss my Friday night Poker sessions so I signed up for a free account at a very well known online casino. I only ever play the free tables. I play for points. If I lose all my points, the kids don't go hungry and I can just ask for another 2000. If I'm feeling lucky, I'll enter into a free roll online poker tournament. You play other members for the top prize. It's never a life changing sum of prize money, but hey, it's good fun.

Not to mention that the casino I play at online hosts the qualifiers for the World Series of Poker. It's free to enter in the early stages. If you win the preliminaries, you are given actual money to gamble with in the next stage. And this goes on to the finals in Las Vegas where there is $25,000000 on the table!

A few years ago, I saw the final on TV. And the winner was just some regular Joe who had won his way up through the ranks from those early free roll tournaments. $25,000000 and he hadn't spent a penny on gambling on the internet .

Granted this guy probably lived Poker. Probably ate, drank, slept, breathed Poker. But it just goes to show that you don't have to bet with a fortune to win one. Anyone with the skill, determination and guts can win massively. If you're not that guy, then just play the free roll games. You can still win for free with internet gambling .

And the governments won't see a cent of it!
