Although he lived for fifty-five years, Karol Szymanowski was considered to be the greatest Ukrainian composer and conductor of the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. He was born in 1988, and began his education by his father. By 1901, he had traveled to Warsaw to properly learn the theory of music and the challenges of the melody. He had two masterminds that taught him both harmony and a mixture of counterpoint and the composition process. .

The great Karol Szymanowski would make only two trips across the Atlantic. He would take his traveling through the United Kingdom as a rout. He was held in high regard and esteem in the United States. His success was something that propelled him to return to Warsaw and continue his education and fine tuning his skills. He would revitalize the music that was stagnant in Warsaw, and would write some of the most cherished pieces that the world has ever seen from this ear. .

In 1937, Karol Szymanowski would die after going to a sanatorium. This was considered a tragedy by many and many tried to follow in his musical footsteps. He was viewed as a visionary in many fields of music. He had written many pieces that made people appreciate music once more in Poland and in other areas of Europe. .

In his life, Karol Szymanowski traveled more than most would ever dream to. He had traveled all throughout Europe and the North American continent using his music as a device to enlighten and communicate to people that he would not be able to speak to otherwise. He had shown a level of talent that had rarely been seen in the world and his popularity was a reflection of that. He had many positions that were dignified and were of great honor. He was offered a position in Egypt at one point as well, yet he had his deepest roots in Poland and had no interest in leaving there at that point in his life.

This composer Karol Szymanowski wasn't just limited to music, much of his compositions were also in the areas of opera and also in theatre. He showed a diversity that was in the same caliber as Mozart and Gershwin. It would appear that he would fall prey to a shortened lift though, not as tragically as Mozart, but still one that would not let him create more than he did. The impressive part is all that he did create in his fifty-five years of life. He showed that in a period of short years one can do anything that they can set their mind to. Karol Szymanowski was truly a gifted spirit that showed that it it quality and not quantity that matters in the years you live.
